The Herr Family provides our families with complete funeral and cemetery services. Our new facility, which opened in June 2005, provides convenience and a staff of experienced funeral directors.

Since 1924, Sunset Hill has served the memorialization needs of the community with extraordinary concern and dignity.

Sunset Hill Funeral Home, located in Glen Carbon on the beautiful grounds of Sunset Hill Cemetery, offers full-service funeral, cremation and cemetery services with options to fulfill the needs of all the families we serve. Our new facility, opened in June of 2005, offers convenience, an experienced staff of licensed funeral directors and a full range of services at one convenient location. Amenities include two funeral visitation rooms, a beautiful entry foyer with a view of Serenity Lake, a gift shop and spacious parking.

Sunset Hill is non-sectarian and offers special benefits for members of fire and police departments, unions, and veterans. Burial areas with traditional monuments are available, as well as garden areas with flush markers. Another area is exclusively for the burial of cremated remains, which also contains a scattering garden.

Overlooking the entire property, our magnificent mausoleum has been an area landmark since 1929. The beauty of our park has recently been enhanced with the addition of Serenity Lake, a peaceful haven for waterfowl and rare fish. In the future, certain lots on the lake shore will be designated for individual family estate mausoleums.
