Picture Perfect Sunset PHOTO CONTEST
Sunset Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery’s first annual photo contest is offering St. Louis Metro East communities the chance to see the beautiful property in Glen Carbon, Illinois through your unique lens.
So, what makes a photograph a Sunset Hill winner? Although technical quality, clarity and composition are important, a flair for the unexpected and the ability to capture a picture-perfect moment will determine the winner.
Sunset Hill is asking you to take photos on the cemetery property of anything that strikes you as beautiful, interesting, poignant, or that you think would simply make a good picture.
Submit your photo(s) by December 31, 2010 to win cash, a spot on the wall in Sunset Hill Funeral Home, to showcase your work, and to have your image published on our website and social networking sites.

Contest Rules
WHO MAY ENTER:
All amateur and professional photographers.
MEDIUM:
Color or black-and-white prints from un-manipulated negatives, transparencies or digital formats (no special effects, multiple exposures, etc. You may alter brightness or contrast). This will provide a fair contest for amateurs and professionals.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Maximum two entries per person. All entries must be framed and completely ready to hang on display panels. The outside framed dimensions of the entry sizes are as follows – minimum 8” X 10”, maximum 24” by 30”. Place your name, address and title of work on the back of each framed photograph.
ENTRIES:
To qualify, photographs submitted must have been taken on the property of Sunset Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010. You may enter up to two individual photographs. They may be any combination of color or black and white photographs.
An official entry form must be filled out and submitted via Sunset Hill website or emailed to accompany the entered photograph(s). You can access the entry form online at www.sunsethillcemetery.com.
Framed photographs must be brought to Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive at Rt. 157, Glen Carbon, Illinois, 62034.
DISPLAY OF PHOTOGRAPHS:
The top three photographs will be on display in Sunset Hill Funeral Home. The photographs will remain on display for an entire year, until December 31, 2011. Sunset Hill will provide the photographer’s contact information to anyone desiring to purchase a photograph.
PHOTO SALES:
If the photographer is interested in selling their entry, the sale of the photograph will be completed between the buyer and the seller and the seller will inform Sunset Hill of any such transactions and provide the name and contact information of the buyer in writing. A “sold” notice may then be placed in front of the photograph.
DEADLINE:
Entries must be received at Sunset Hill Funeral Home no later than 4:00 pm on December 31, 2010.

JUDGING:
Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity and photographic quality. The decision of the judges will be final.
AWARDS:
Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places.
First Prize -$250.00
Second Prize-$150.00
Third Prize- $75.00
RESTRICTIONS:
You must own all rights to any photographs entered in this contest. It is the responsibility of the contestant to ensure the display of the photographs by Sunset Hill Funeral Home raises no legal claims. Winners agree to allow the Sunset to publicly display and publish their photographs in print or electronic form.
GENERAL AGREEMENT:
Submission of entry to the contest automatically constitutes the contestant’s acceptance of all conditions set forth in the above rules. Entries not complying with the above rules will be disqualified. Sunset Hill Funeral Home reserves the right to disqualify photographs for any reason.
Sunset Hill Funeral Home shall not be held responsible for damage to or loss of the photographs submitted for this contest. The top three photographs will be displayed in an open, public accessible area
